SPC2012: Past, Present and Future of Physics

1: Conference Overview

The 7th Siam Physics Congress (SPC2012) will be held at the Krungsri River Hotel, Phra nakhon Si Ayutthaya during 9-12 May 2012. The Siam Physics Congress was initiated in 2006 by the Thai Physics Society (TPS). The aim of the congress is to bring together national and international physicists, physics teachers, technologists, young scientists as well as those who are interested in physics from a variety of fields (covering both basic and applied physics research) in order to give them an opportunity to share and exchange their experiences. The Siam Physics Congress incorporates satellite workshops and annual meetings of the Thai Physics Society, the Thailand Center of Excellence in Physics (ThEP), and the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).

5. Conference Contributors

There are two main options for papers submitted to the SPC2012 conference:

1). ABSTRACT ONLY:

                • encouraged for poster presentation

                • should not exceed 400 words

2). CONFERENCE FULL PAPER (CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS):

                • encouraged for either a poster or an oral presentation. An author will select his/her type of presentation during the on-line registration.

                • should not exceed 4 pages

                • all accepted full papers will be published in the conference proceedings which will be distributed during the SPC2012 conference

All submission must be written in English.  (Only special Session for Physics Education:    Proceedings, Presentation in Thai or English accepted) All accepted papers will be published in the Book of Abstract distributed at the conference. At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference.

THAI JOURNAL OF PHYSICS SERIES 8 (TPS Journal): In addition to conference abstract or full paper submissions, all authors are invited to submit full papers for publication in a peer-reviewed special issue of Thai Journal of Physics Series 8. As a result of the peer review, there is a possibility that your paper may need to be revised. The TPS Journal is regulated by the Thai Physics Society. Please not that the TPS journal will be published sometimes after the SPC2012 conference dates.

6: Submission Guidelines

Submission of Abstract

All abstracts must be written in English according to the Abstract template. The length of abstracts should be in a range of 300-350 words and must be less than 400 words. The abstract must be submitted electronically to the conference submission system by February 29, 2012. The review committees will review all abstracts and the contact authors of each paper will be notified of the result by e-mail on individual basis. All accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstract distributed at the conference. The authors whom submit only abstracts will be requested to present their work in a form of poster presentation.
